Enter build mode to see:
- Tokens with stats ready to be moved to the game board.
- Environmental blocks to quickly set the time of day to sunrise, noon, sunset and moonlight.
- An indicator for the water level.
Please note: I forgot to center the camera before I started building! The water level indicator is to the south of the map, and tokens are to the east. The board is large and you won't see the markers when you first load it up.
Session / Story Prompt - The Haunted Quarry of Kazrach Durrum
By Heimdahlr
The abandoned mine and ruined waterfront keep of Kazrach Durrum has a long and storied history. Known today as the Haunted Quarry, Kazrach Durrum began as a cooperative effort by the kingdom of men and the native dwarves. In exchange for protection from the invading orc horde, the dwarves supplied the human kingdom with a steady supply of gold from the rich veins and pockets deep beneath the surface. Over the years, that partnership began to break down. As the veins of gold ran low and yields diminished, human greed made them suspicious of the dwarves, convincing themselves that the dwarves were simply sharing less of the wealth. Soon the cooperation dissolved into conflict. They say that at the peak of the siege, an enormous orc horde of dozens of clans, united under a powerful war chief, attacked the warring allies. The orcs slew the humans and ousted the dwarves but found little reward for their efforts, as the mines themselves had indeed run dry.
The story of Kazrach Durrum does not end there. Many hundreds of years later it was the site of a cataclysmic magical battle between a supreme necromancer who had taken up residence there and an army of cloud giants from the nearby mountain range. They say the necromancer was in possession of a powerful talisman belonging to the giant races. The earth shook and thunder crashed, and eldritch light softly emanated from above Kazrach Durrum as the battle raged between the crawling hordes and the host of giants. Though the outcome of this war is unknown to this day, the magical energies released in those days warped the land, blurring the lines between man and beast, life and death, up and down. They say there are still rocks to be found floating on air, untethered to the earth and its laws. Dead things still lurk there, and beasts of malign magical origin. Beware the Haunted Quarry, traveler, lest you too become part of its dark history.
