Map Variants
The Game Ready board includes:
- Intuitive and efficient hide volumes.
- Creature tokens with stats and links to DnDBeyond.
- Seven floors for the party to investigate.
The Full Artistic board presents the complete Death House in one piece, intended as a piece of art rather than the recommended gameplay version.
The Book Includes
Please visit the product page at DMsguild.com to Pay What You Want for a full PDF containing alternate room descriptions, assembly instructions and other board information.
The book enhances the original Curse of Strahd module, which you will still need. If you are just starting your campaign, I also recommend getting a Guide to the Curse of Strahd campaign.
- 22 revised room descriptions which accurately reflect rooms visible to players.
- Details about the challenges of converting 2D maps to 3D.
- Tips and instructions for using hide volumes and smoothly transitioning players through the map.
- Slab assembly instructions and advice.
Slabs and Assembly
The original assembly listings comprise the Main Building, Yard and Dungeons.
The Main Building listing now provides the Game Ready full-board import. Open the Full Artistic or Game Ready TalesTavern listing above to get a complete map without assembling slabs.
For the original slab workflow, follow the detailed Death House construction video and the companion PDF. The original package describes eight detailed slabs, including full-house parts, a hollow house, upper and lower dungeons, and cutaway versions of the house floors. These can also be used as battlefields independently of the module.
